The Walks

The first two days saw the party take a couple of medium length walks, one by Malham Tarn and one a little further North.

On the Saturday the group decided to tackle the "Three Peaks" of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, and made an early start from Horton-in-Ribblesdale at about 7.30, climbing Pen-y-Ghent in cold clear weather. Then the route was across Horton Moor and eventually up Whernside (muddy), down to Ingleborough and a final brisk walk back to Horton. About 23 miles in all, with the group taking just under 10 hours to complete the walk.
