The Walks

On the Thursday the party went across Langdale and up to Blea Tarn , then to Wrynose Bridge and up on to Pike O'Blisco. Then across to Crinkle Crags and Bowfell, descending to Angle Tarn and back to the hotel via Rossett Gill. 12 miles.

On the second day the cars were taken to Rydal, from where the group walked to the edge of Ambleside before going up on to Fairfield via Low Pike, High Pike and Dove Crag. From there, not entirely intentionally in the rain and mist, the descent was via Grisedale Hause and Tongue Gill to Mill Bridge. There followed a a superlatively unselfish act by John and Brian, who walked back to Rydal in torrential rain to get the cars. 10 miles for the main group and 13 miles for John and Brian

On the final day the group crossed from the hotel into Little Langdale, then ascended Wetherlam, going round on to Swirl How, Great Carrs, Little Carrs and Hell Gill Pike. Then down to the Three Shire Stone and back to Langdale and the hotel via Red Tarn and Oxendale 12 miles.
