The Wasdale Head Inn, Wasdale

3-7 November 2004

The Team

Sid, Alan, Julian, John, Mike, George and Nigel

As it turned out the first day provided the best weather of the trip, with patchy cloud covering some but not all the hills. The team headed up Mosedale Beck to Black Sail Pass, then turned right to Kirk Fell and straight up Great Gable via Beck Head. A descent followed to Sty Head Tarn via Windy Gap, and a return to the hotel via Lingmell Beck.

The second day was cloudy, but the group set out back up to Black Sail Pass, this time turning left up Pillar and on to Little Scoat Fell and Red Pike. After that it was completion of the Mosedale horseshoe via Dore Head, Over Beck and the car park on the north shore of the lake, returning to the hotel along the road.

Saturday was the wettest day and the team stayed relatively low down, walking south to Boot via Burnmoor Tarn and Brat's Moss. The return was a similar route, but slightly further east via Eller How.
